Today's Picture:
Saw all the smoke in the sky and didn't know what it all was until the power went out. A transformer at the SRP plant 2 miles away caught fire. We had no power for about 4 hours.

June 19-20, 2011 Father's Day
Kev is definitley in his element when he is up north in the woods camping. That's what he wanted to do for Father's Day, so he got up and took off for a few days. Alicia and I drove up a few hours later and hung out, spent the night and then came home Monday afternoon.
Here's Kev sitting watching baseball in the pines. You just can't beat it.
Came across a few things on our quad ride, one is a little out of place.
Found a camp that left behind a bunch of really nice firewood so we loaded it up to bring home for our firepit.
Came across the Buck Mountain Lookout on a quad ride. Climbed up to the top to see the awesome view.

I have finally updated a bunch on my blog!!! The reason for the delay is because I left my camera up north in the trailer. I borrowed a camera and also used my phone to take pictures but I still wanted everything to be in date order. I got my camera back and am working on my posts. For now scroll all the way down to May 25th to start where I left off. They'll be more posts in the next day or so to get everything up to date so check back.

Today's Picture:
Kev & I went to the Lava River Cave, we'd never been and wanted to check it out. When we got there a couple was coming out and they were nice enough to give us their flashlights. It's about a mile long inside but we only went a little ways cause once I couldn't see daylight, we turned around.

May 29, 2011 Geocaching
Alicia had learned about Geocaching when we were camping in Yuma. She got everyone excited about it so Kev, Janet & I joined her and her friends to go out for a little "treasuring hunting". There really isn't treasure to be found, the whole point is to find something. You can look up coordinates on line or there is an app that you can get for your phone and it gives you the directions etc. We went looking for a few that were close to thier camp.
The first one was just a little container that had a log of who had been there and when. It was not in a water proof container so it did get a little wet.
The next cache was a little harder to find.
Gini found this one, it was pretty high up in a tree. We had been looking under rocks, around trees and in trees, but just not high enough.
There is this one section in the forest that we came across that had been hit by a tornado. It was amazing all these trees were just uprooted and snapped in half.
This was the famous jump. Veronica says to me, "Elaine take my picture while I jump off this tree." So I do and she hurts herself. She ended up going to urgent care in Flagstaff and then they told her to go home and get an MRI and the final result is that she tore her miniscus.

- As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
