April 11, 2019 Exploring Houses

Every now and then Yvonne, Mindy, Cheryl and I will go out and check out new houses that are being built. It’s crazy cause there are so many being built in the compound right now.  We love to see what people put in their houses as far as the tile, cabinets, granite etc.  And we like to see them at the stage where all that stuff is in.  Sometimes we get really lucky and all the houses we try to check out are unlocked and we can get in and then other times we don’t get so lucky.  We always try the front door first and if that’s locked then we go around back or in the garage to see if there’s an open door.  If not we have to settle for just peering in the windows.  Funny thing that happened this last outing, we couldn’t get in the door so we started peering in the windows.  We looked in one window and Yvonne says, hey there’s a computer plugged in right there.  So she and Cheryl wander back to the golf cart while Mindy and I go around back and start flashing our flash lights and have our faces against the window and I say, there’s a couple chairs in there and that looks like a welcome basket on the counter.  So all the doors were locked and we went on our way.  The next day Yvonne was driving  by the house and the garage went up and there were a couple cars in it.  Soooo there were people living in there and we didn’t know it. lol

April 4, 2019 Lainey’s Crazy Hair

The Twins were going to spend the night and Alicia was still over so we decided instead of giving them a bath I’d take them in the shower to get them all washed up.  They did pretty good and liked sitting there playing with some toys.

Now check out Lainey’s hair.  It is so crazy after she has it washed and it's all wet.  She has a head of curls.  When I showed Alicia these pictures I told her to look at little Patchey with that crazy hair.  Paul had the same hair when he was a baby, lots of curls.                                                       

March 29, 2019 9 Month Dr appt

I went with Alicia to take the girls for their 9 month Dr appt.  They didn’t have to get any shots which was good.  It was basically just a check up to see how they’re doing and what they weigh.  At this appointment Lainey weighed 20.6 and Emery was 19.3.  They are still about a pound difference in weight which that’s how it’s been since their birth.  It’s really funny too when they get in the office and get in the examination bed, they love to tear up that paper.

March 25, 2019 Craft Day

It was time again for our girls craft day.  This time it was my craft to plan and I prepare.  It took me a while to decide what we were gonna do and then find what we needed to get it done.  I found on Pinterest these birthday boards where you hang all the birthdays and or anniversaries or special occasions for each month.  Hard to explain but the pictures will show you what it was.  In order to get everything ready I had to ask Cheryl and Ron to help me.  They both died the boards with hooks and then drilled the holes in our wooden hearts.  All stuff I wouldn’t have been able to do on my own.  All the girls loved it and it was fun to get it all done. The hardest part of the whole craft was getting the little rings attached to the hearts.

March 23, 2019 Good Life Festival

Encanterra has a big event every year in March or April called The Good Life Festival.  This year they brought in Credence Clearwater and Three Dog Night.  It’s not like I was super excited about going cause neither one of them is a band I love but it’s always a good time.  And the funny thing is that when the tickets went on sale I didn’t buy ours.  I decided I wasn’t going to buy them cause people are always trying to sell theirs a few days before the concert.  In fact, Mindy decided to do the same thing.  I thought it was a good idea except that the concert sold out so there were so many people looking to buy tickets. I was pretty much accepting that we weren’t  going to go.  But then Mindy found tickets a lady was selling and she had two extras so she got hers and I also got some.  And it was two days before.  It was a good time as always.

March 17, 2019 St Patrick’s Day

The day started off with Kev and Duke having another tennis match.  This time they were playing two guys that they are friends with so we got a group of people to come watch.  It was not your typical tennis match.  We cheered and yelled and rang cow bells and just had a fun time cheering on the boys.  They started out great and won the first few games but then kind of hit a wall and couldn’t come back.  Still a great showing for a couple guys that hardly ever play tennis.

It was St Patrick’s Day so we had to wear our green.  After the tennis match we went down to the Algarve pool where they had a DJ and lots of people hanging out.  

March 14, 2019 Robson Ranch Tournament

I’ve played in a handful of tournaments this year with Yvonne and Kev but for some reason I seem to only take pictures when I win.  lol  Next year I’ll have to take some pics whether we win or lose.  In this Robson tournament I played with someone other then Yvonne.  Her and Mindy were playing in a golf tournament at our place so I asked a girl I know, Sue Rodke to be my partner.  As of the first of the year I had to register for 4.5 in tournaments.  We played really good together and played some tough matches. It was a fun day and we ended up with the bronze medal.

                                      

March 9, 2019 Windmill Winery

It was almost exactly a year ago that we went to this winery in Florence.  It’s a cute place that does a lot of weddings and also has a bar and lots of outside seating.  We went last year and there was hardly anyone there.  I remember the weather was kind of crappy so that may have played a big part.  This year the place was packed.  We had a big group of us that went and enjoyed the nice atmosphere.  They don’t have a restaurant there so they bring in a food truck.  That really was the only problem with the night cause it was so crowded orders were taking at least an hour.   One of the girls and myself brought some snacks and some cheese and crackers and little munchies so that was a saving grace for sure.  They also have a guy that plays music.  It’s really a nice place to go and just sit outside and relax.

March 7, 2019 Tennis Tournament

Last summer Kev and a few other guys would go down to the tennis courts once a week to go play some tennis.  Mainly it was just to goof off but also it was something to do and our tennis courts have lights, unlike the Pickleball courts.  One of Kev’s friends that he also plays Pickleball with was in the tennis tournament last year so Kev and Duke decided they were going to play in it this year.  And today was the day.  For them it was pretty much just a joke but they figured they’d have some fun.

Then went down the day before to hit a few balls to prepare since they hadn’t played since last summer.  They played two guys who were shocked when Kev and Greg beat them, and so was the tennis pro.  No one saw it happening but it did and they did it pretty easily too.  The matches were 

6-3 & 6-2.  They had a great time and it was actually pretty funny to watch.
