October 4-11, 2018 Babysitting Twins

Alicia’s friend Magui was getting married in Hawaii.  While she was still pregnant she asked me if we would watch the babies so they could go to the wedding and also add on some extra days so they could have a little bit of a honeymoon for themselves.  We said yes of course, although I think it was on the face time we had on day three Kev said, “I really hate you guys right now.”  He was kidding of course but realized how much work having twins was and also a little jealous, they were in Hawaii.  It was such a fun week.  And I’ll say it again, they are a lot of work.  It was funny cause at one point Kev said what happened to them eating and sleeping?  And he asked that cause we had kept the girls overnight a couple times before this and that’s all they did, but they were smaller.  Now they get bored so you have to keep them moving. First they’re in their chair, then we move them to the floor, then a swing, now a boppy, oh let’s go back to the chair......and so on.  Hence Kev saying they’re a lot of work.  But we really loved having them and they really are good babies.  A couple nights they even slept thru the night.

We went outside and just sat and enjoyed some fresh air.

Lainey was all smiles when she was sitting in the bouncer, but when I put her in the seat to sit up she lost it.  Poor baby, but cute pic. lol

We had baby stuff everywhere.  You never know what they are going to want next to keep them occupied.

Check out Kev watching the babies, he's sleeping, Lainey is looking at herself in the mirror and Emery has taken over my chair and blanket.

I took them for walks every day, usually twice a day.  They loved the fresh air and getting out and it gave me a chance to give them something else to do.

Time for them to sit in their chairs

Not its time to sit on boppies
Now it's time to fall asleep lol

They really were so good all weekend.  We loved having them and I'm sure it's the first of many sleepovers.

September 28 - 30, 2018 Girls Trip

This was our 4th annual trip.  We had said we wanted to meet up every year and so far we have been staying on track.  It’s my group of friend I went to high school with and we are all still friends.  We don’t see each other much or even talk regularly, but every year we pick up where we left off.  It’s always a fun time. This year we went to Steamboat Springs in Colorado.  We flew into Denver and then drove up there which is a little over 3 hours away.  My one friend Chag had a friend that had a four bedroom four bath condo that we stayed in.  It was a great place with lots of room for all of us and in a nice community not far from anything we wanted to do all weekend. We actually did a lot of relaxing and just hanging out but did have the occasional trip out to go do something.

Our first outing was a trip into town to walk around and do some shopping.  It’s a cute downtown area that we enjoyed walking around.  We had to stop at our new favorite store, Kum & Go,  on the way back to the condo for some ice.  With a name like that you know there were some remarks to go with it.

We had a great day the next day.  We went for a really pretty hike.  It wasn’t real hard or long but we saw some great scenery with the trees changing colors and a mice waterfall.  It was my first time hiking and it felt good to be out on a trail.  I didn’t have any problems which I was happy about as well.

After our hike we went back to the condo for lunch and then went out to some hot springs.  It was my first time at some hot springs and it was cool.  This place had a whole little village down there with different pools of springs.  Each pool seemed to have different temperatures.  All hot but some hotter then others.  It was nice and relaxing.

Our final full day in Steamboat we did another hike just outside of town.  I guess it was more of a walk.  They have this walking trail that goes all thru the outside of town and then goes all the way to the ski resort where we were staying.  We actually dove to the part closest to town and then had lunch at a nice little pizza place.

Our last day was just getting everything together and packing.  Once we drove back into Denver we stopped downtown for a little bit, had something to eat and then headed to the airport. Fun weekend. We’ll see where we go next year.

September 16, 2018 Celebrating Birthdays

Kev loves the Mexican restaurant Valle Luna.  So when I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday he said go to Valle Luna.  Alicia lives a mile from there and Heather was available to come so we all met up there to celebrate both Alicia and Kev’s birthday which are on the same day, the 18th.  It was just what he wanted, so cold beer, some good Mexican food and some football on the tv.

The gurls has their Cardinals outfits on.  Too cute!

September 7, 2018 Craft Day

This time it was Yvonne’s turn to plan our craft.  She’s had been saying for a while that she wanted to do a wreath so that’s what we did.   It was a glitter and glue gun day.
Yvonne and I were doing the same colors on our wreaths, red, green & silver.
Cheryl and Mindy went with the blues and silver color balls.
The bar by the room we were in, so we decided a pina colada was perfect to go with crafting.

This is my wreath.  It’s hard to tell but there are also lights on them too.

I was just looking back and realized that I never posted about our other craft day.  After doing the mosaic pieces Mindy thought that we should do something once a month if it works out and get together and do a craft of some sort.  One of us would plan it and buy all the supplies and then we’d get together and craft.  I am not crafty at all so the whole idea sounds fun but will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
This was our first craft, it was Mindy’s idea and planning.  We started with just some rocks we found around the neighborhood and then painted them and made our own little rock gardens.

September 5, 2018 Uptown Jump

The girls had early release from school today so we made arrangements to go pick them up so we could go to the jump place to celebrate Santanah’s birthday which was a few weeks ago.  We picked up Annalise and Santanah and then Hunter met us there with Avah and Baby K.  It’s really a cool place that has all kinds of slides and trampolines and climbing paths plus some climbing walls.  The girls had a great time and even the baby had fun crawling around and finding a thing or two to play on.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
