It was a little breezy outside on my walk this afternoon. I love when I come up to this cul de sac and the flags are all waving.

There are a few of these benches through out San Tan Mountain Park. They are all placed in good spots, like on top of a hill or after a long stretch on a trail. I don’t sit on any, but occasionally I will stop and use them to stretch.

Lainey had to go to the dentist today and get her lip tie cut. Poor baby. Alicia said she cried the whole time she was in there. I watched Emery & Eli while they were gone and when she came home I told her to smile at the camera so Papa could see her teeth. Her top lip was still numb so she was doing her best.

Was out on a hike this morning and I came around a curve on the trail and look up and these funky cacti caught my eye. All the arms are going every which way.

What is this a pile of you ask? It’s bowl holders. OMG are they amazing. Grandma Lupe gave us our first ones and then my friend Janice made me a batch of ones that are different sizes that can hold bigger bowls or even plates. Kev and I are guilty of eating on the couch in front of the tv and these are great cause you don’t have to hold a hot bowl/plate in your lap.

I have had the same blender forever!! My friend Meredith gave it to me years ago, but it is almost dead. So I saw the Ninja Foodi blender on sale at Macy’s plus I had a $50 gift card so I ordered it. It came it two days and holy crap is it amazing. So far I’ve only made smoothies but boy do they come out perfect.

We keep having a water leak from the freezer. One time we took the drawer out and found this big chunk of ice on the bottom so we got rid of it and that worked for a little while but then it happened again and more often where we would find big puddles of water coming out from underneath the whole refrigerator. So Kev read that we should let the whole thing defrost and let it sit for 48 hours. We completely emptied it out and squeezed everything into the fridge in the garage and let it sit. We turned it back on today so we’ll see how it goes. But in the meantime it got a nice cleaning and looks great.

For the hiking challenge I’m doing I have to take a picture of the trail I hike as well as a picture of my tracking app. Whenever I hike I make a collage of the pictures I take and then submit it for my daily total. Some days I end up going on several trails so I take a picture of each one. Today was one of those days for my 5.30 miles.

So I have a blankie on all the time while I sit in my chair watching tv, even in the summer. And guess who else has one on now too.
Today’s Pic of the Day:
I was hiking out at Ussery Mountain Park today and came across these three deer. They are hard to see cause they really do blend in with the desert. One thing you can see though is how dry it all is. We need a good rain for sure.

Kev won his fantasy football league that he is in with guys here at Encanterra. I don’t know where the name came from but the award is called “The Flying Fucktards” trophy. Kev came home from the bar yesterday where they celebrated his win and brought home the trophy. Today, I come in from playing Pickleball and he’s got his trophy on top of the bed. Oh boy 🤦♀️
Today’s Pic of the Day:
It’s a screen shot again, but a good one lol The Strava app I use gave me a congratulations because I logged my longest hike today.

I keep making this Whole30 recipe I found that I love. It’s called Chicken Tortilla Less Soup. I make a batch and eat it for days, sometimes lunch, sometimes dinner, sometimes both. lol I made a batch today and it’s all packed up to put in the fridge. No need to freeze it cause I eat it too fast.
Today’s Pic of the Day:
Eli loves his Papa. He wants to sit up on his lap, he follows him when he leaves the room, he just always wants to be with him. Today we were outside and he of course had to be by his Papa.

For Christmas we got each Lainey and Emery one of these little shopping carts. They loved them. But...Eli wanted one. He kept trying to take theirs. Every time they turned around he tried stealing it. It was so funny. Then whoever’s cart he got they would run after him yelling “no lie lie no” and take it back. Plus they loved the coffee cup holder and once he figured that out he tried to steal those too. So so funny. Today I bought another one since they are coming over tomorrow to spend the night. Everyone will be so happy!!!

We went over to Alicia and Arnold‘s house later in the day. Mary, Teresa and Colleen were going over as well. We were going to just spend the day with the handful of us and enjoy some time together and celebrate the day. The kids got a few more presents as well as the gift from Heather and David, was taken apart, brought over to Alicia’s house, and then put back together. The kids loved it.
Hunter and Jess had said that they would come over on Christmas morning so that we could see the kids and give them their presents. Only Jess came with the kids, but grandma as well as Heather and David came over to see them too. Baby K got his Tonka truck that he loved playing with at Alicia’s and the girls each got some things they had asked for as well as some books and treats in their stockings.
Alicia had invited us over for dinner so Kev decided that he would also bring his Grinch costume since the girls and Eli hadn’t seen it yet. After we ate dinner he went outside and put the costume on and the twins kept looking out the door to see where Papa went. He had the costume on and kept running back-and-forth in front of the doorway and they just weren’t sure what was going on. So then he came inside and they saw the Grinch and ran and Lainey screamed. The face of the Grinch is pretty scary so they didn’t know what to think. Finally we were kept telling them it’s Papa, it’s Papa. Kev would lift the mask up to show them that he was underneath there but they were all still really leery about going near him.
