Kev went to the Diamondbacks game and they were interviewing this couple on TV and look who also got framed in the photo. Is that too funny or what? Way to be part of the spotlight honey!!
May 30, 2012 Kachina Trail
Kev and I have never hiked any trails up on Snowbowl in Flag. So we decided that we are going to try to get to some of them this summer. We did try out one while we were up there for a few days and plan to go back and do it again. Mainly cause we didn't finish it. We hiked for a little over an hour and then turned around. We would like to do this hike with two cars, one at the top of the trail and the other at the bottom. The elevation is at 9500 and we definitely were huffing, so by having two cars we could start at the top and then go down to the end of the trail and not have to go back up. That's not being lazy....it's smart. Even though it is not a long trail, it is a little tough, check out the sign it says it's a more difficult horse trail!!!
The views were amazing!!!
Pine Needles
I went up to Flag to hang out with Janet for a few days and we got on a big "let's work on the yard" kick. We did a bunch of weeding, clipped bushes and of course raked pine needles. We bagged just around 45 bags of needles, and that was maybe 1/3 the yard. Then Kev & I went back up and we all did more. Alicia came up to and is taking alot of credit, but that is her car in the background so she was there, but I can't acknowledge the amount of work she says she did. LOL Anyways, I forgot to get a picture of the pile of bags before we left last week, but basically the pile was doubled!!!
We still have about 3/4 of the side yard to finish but that should only be about 30 bags of needles.
Tessa's Graduation
It's so weird that Becky has a daughter that is now going to college!!! My friend Becky has 3 kids and her oldest graduated from Perry High School in Chandler. All 3 of Becky's kids are really awesome and I know they get that from her cause she's a great mom.
Couldn't let the opportunity for a photo get away. The Bahama Mamas have a hard time getting together lately so when we do, we love to share it. Brophy Baseball
Brophy made it to the State Championship game this year. And of course that's always exciting because they have an amazing coach. Okay so I'm a little biased, but seriously, Tommy has been the coach at Brophy for 35 years so how could be not be great at what he does. We went to the game at Camelback Ranch to cheer on the Broncos and in support of Tommy and his team. Unfortunately, the outcome was not in Brophy's favor. Still a great season, a reflection of an awesome coach!!!
Mother's Day 2012
I decided that I wanted to go bowling for Mother's Day. It ended up being a really hot day so an indoor activity worked out great. Paul and Kev were really going at who could beat who. At first Alicia and I were all in as well, but that didn't last long. Lots of fun though and followed up with one of my favorite places......Oreganos!!! Alfredo the Dark & a Pizzookie. Plus I got a new charm for my Pandora bracelet. What a day!!!
May 7, 2012 Mountain Biking
Kev and I took the trailer up north to camp for the weekend and then put it in storage up there for the summer. It makes it easier leaving it up there rather then hauling it up and down the mountains every time we go out. Something different we did was take our bikes with us. We found a nice flat, and a little rocky trail over by Willow Springs Lake and went for a ride. It was really fun. Kev didn't like it too much, but I enjoyed it and thought it was something I would like to do more of. I'm not sure I could do hills and that kind of trail but a nice flat dirt one works for me.
April 29, 2012 Walnut Canyon
On Sunday of the weekend we were all together Kev & I decided to go to Walnut Canyon. Both Mary & Janet had been there before so they weren't up for it. It's really cool These Indian ruins are all built into the side of the mountain and you can hike down and walk all the way around them and inside. Really interesting and a good hike as well.

More Annaliese
Are you tired of looking at that silly picture of Annaliese and her big forehead? It's so funny cause she has alot of hair but her hairline starts pretty far back. Here's a little video of her from Monday, June 4th. After this I will catch up with some pictures from my last post of April til now.
Baby, Baby, Baby
Here's a handful of pictures of AnnaLiese. This first one makes her look like she is just this chubby bald baby, but she really has a head of hair.
Good Friday
So when Daddy was in the hospital we were all there, all the time. We decided to take shifts to stay with him in his room in case he needed anything during the night. No one really left but we just had two in the room at a time. My partner was Janet. So she and I had our turn several times and it never failed that Daddy never slept when we were there. Everyone else would say he slept here and there but not us. We kind of even joked that he slept with everyone else cause he stayed up all night with us.
One of the nights we were in there I decided to read scripture out of the bible. She and I would just keep reading, we'd take turns and just go from page to page. It was hard to just sit there so this is what we came up with. One night in particular Dad was really just struggling to relax, he was all over the bed and just awake. I was reading from the bible, just reading and reading. In walks the cleaning lady and she is tip toeing around doing what she needs to do. She hears me reading and she tells me to read a particular verse. So I go to it, which was Paul to the Thessalonians, and read. Low and behold, Dad started to relax, and fell asleep.
It was one of those things I so remember because when it came time to plan his funeral the Priest gave us some scriptures to pick from to use at the mass. And yes, one of them was the one the cleaning lady told us to read. We picked that one and it was also the one that I read at his mass. Therefore, console one another with these words.

A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians 4:13-18
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters,
about those who have fallen asleep,
so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose,
so too will God, through Jesus,
bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord,
that we who are alive,
who are left until the coming of the Lord,
will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself, with a word of command,
with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God,
will come down from heaven,
and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive, who are left,
will be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
Thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore, console one another with these words.
With today being Good Friday, I am thinking about Daddy. I miss him so much!!
Yummy??? Breakfast
On Sunday I had made waffles for breakfast. Usually I can get 4-5 waffles out of one batch of mix. Whatever we don't eat I just make and put in the fridge and then I just have to pop them in the toaster. I had put the last batch of mix in the waffle maker and then sat down to eat mine. This was about 8:45. When Kev and I were leaving to go to mass at 10:40 I smelled something burning......it was the last waffle. I totally forgot about it. I just put the whole waffle maker outside to get rid of the smell. I went to put some trash out and realized I had left the waffle in the maker outside and here it was 2 days later. Not even the birds would eat it.
| But Kev will eat anything!!! |
Meredith Runs
My friend Meredith who I met at Weight Watchers has really gotten into running. When she was losing weight she exercised by walking, then she slowly started to do some running and now she has done 3 1/2 marathons. Last month she was doing one that was really close to the house so I jumped on my bike and went out to watch her finish. I caught up with her about her last couple of miles.
So here's a cool part of the story.....Meredith is going to do a Ragnar race. A Ragnar race is an all night 199 mile relay race. You have 12 members on your team and you each do several different legs of the race. She heard about this race through a friend and applied to be part of a team to do the race in Florida in January 2013. Richie & Heather's Wedding
My nephew Richie got married on St Patrick's Day. What a great day to remember. The entire wedding ceremony and reception were outside in this real pretty lawn and garden area. I got a chance to get a few photos of the couple as well as some of all the ones we all posed for.

- Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often
- As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
