August 12-13, 2017 Road Trip

The Canadian Olympic Village is in Calgary so we decided to check it out since we were right there. It wasn’t really what we expected.  It seemed to be really run down but we still had fun walking around.

There are two sides to the Glacier National Park.  One is in Canada and the other in the USA. The problem is is that you cannot drive all the way around it.  You can do the Canada side come back out and then drive into the USA and do the USA side.  So that’s what we did.  Again, more beautiful views both driving and out hiking.

Don't mind us, we're just a couple of bears walking along side the road .

Now Glacier on the US side.
We found this trail and according to the information we had it was suppose to be a nice hike with a waterfall.  Well along the whole trail was all these burnt trees, so obviously a fire had gone thru her at some time.  Plus it was all down hill, so Kev kept saying, "you know we have to walk back up this to get back to the truck."  But we kept going cause our curiosity got the best of us.

And there is was.  Really beautiful.
Then there was a bridge you could cross and continue on the trail.  Again we were curious so we wanted to see where it went.  It was suppose to come to more waterfalls.

 And there they were.

So after that trail we drove around a little more.  You can see here more of the smoke that was lingering from forest fires in California and Oregon.  Crazy how that smoke can just travel.
And the roads thru Glacier are real narrow, so you are not allowed to be pulling a camp trailer or even be a bigger vehicle like an RV can't go up on the higher roads.

Then we came across this other trail thru a spot that was like a rain forest.  It was really cool.  And the trail was all lined with this wooden path.

Glacier was really pretty, we'd go back there some time for sure.  It would be nice to revisit alot of the places we went cause we liked them plus there were trails we didn't hike and also to see them with clear skies.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
