Baby, Baby, Baby

Here's a handful of pictures of AnnaLiese.  This first one makes her look like she is just this chubby bald baby, but she really has a head of hair.
These are the most recent two pictures from when I was babysitting last week 4/13/2012.  She's at that giggly, making bubbles and noises stage.  So Cute!!!

Good Friday

So when Daddy was in the hospital we were all there, all the time.  We decided to take shifts to stay with him in his room in case he needed anything during the night. No one really left but we just had two in the room at a time.   My partner was Janet.  So she and I had our turn several times and it never failed that Daddy never slept when we were there.  Everyone else would say he slept here and there but not us.  We kind of even joked that he slept with everyone else cause he stayed up all night with us.

One of the nights we were in there I decided to read scripture out of the bible.  She and I would just keep reading, we'd take turns and just go from page to page.   It was hard to just sit there so this is what we came up with.  One night in particular Dad was really just struggling to relax, he was all over the bed and just awake. I was reading from the bible, just reading and reading.  In walks the cleaning lady and she is tip toeing around doing what she needs to do.  She hears me reading and she tells me to read a particular verse.  So I go to it, which was Paul to the Thessalonians, and read.  Low and behold, Dad started to relax, and fell asleep.

It was one of those things I so remember because when it came time to plan his funeral the Priest gave us some scriptures to pick from to use at the mass.  And yes, one of them was the one the cleaning lady told us to read. We picked that one and it was also the one that I read at his mass.  Therefore, console one another with these words.

A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians 4:13-18
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters,
about those who have fallen asleep,
so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose,
so too will God, through Jesus,
bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
Indeed, we tell you this, on the word of the Lord,
     that we who are alive,
who are left until the coming of the Lord,
will surely not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself, with a word of command,
with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God,
     will come down from heaven,
and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive, who are left,
will be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
Thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore, console one another with these words.

With today being Good Friday, I am thinking about Daddy.   I miss him so much!!

Yummy??? Breakfast

On Sunday I had made waffles for breakfast.  Usually I can get 4-5 waffles out of one batch of mix.  Whatever we don't eat I just make and put in the fridge and then I just have to pop them in the toaster.  I had put the last batch of mix in the waffle maker and then sat down to eat mine.  This was about 8:45.  When Kev and I were leaving to go to mass at 10:40 I smelled something burning......it was the last waffle.  I totally forgot about it.  I just put the whole waffle maker outside to get rid of the smell.   I went to put some trash out and realized I had left the waffle in the maker outside and here it was 2 days later.  Not even the birds would eat it.
But Kev will eat anything!!!

Meredith Runs

My friend Meredith who I met at Weight Watchers has really gotten into running.  When she was losing weight she exercised by walking, then she slowly started to do some running and now she has done 3 1/2 marathons. Last month she was doing one that was really close to the house so I jumped on my bike and went out to watch her finish.  I caught up with her about her last couple of miles.
This is where she saw me on the side of the road.

The end of the race, Meredith with her husband Dave
and friend Mary, who also ran.

So here's a cool part of the story.....Meredith is going to do a Ragnar race.  A Ragnar race is an all night 199 mile relay race.  You have 12 members on your team and you each do several different legs of the race.  She heard about this race through a friend and applied to be part of a team to do the race in Florida in January 2013.  Check out the link to read more. http://www.runsforcookies.com/2012/03/complete-dozen.html

Madeline Turns 50

Grandma called and said she was going to have a surprise party for Madeline's 50th birthday.  I told her she doesn't want a party, don't do it.  LOL  She did it, and it was a great success.   Madeline always says how I am older then her, but it's only by one month.  It's funny how the girls, Alicia & Veronica, are only a week apart in age and Madeline & I are a month apart.  All of us have been friends for 22 years....Love it!!!

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
