Paul & His Job

Since the last two posts were about the kids and their jobs in one way or another I thought I should also pass on that Paul is doing awesome at his as well.  He loves what he does, is good at it and works hard.  He just wishes he made more money.....who doesn't?  But check out his cards.

E.I.T.  =  Engineer in Training
Assistant Project Manager
P.E.  =  Professional Engineer
Project Manager
In the field of Engineering being a P.E. is an extremely a big deal.  First of all you have to practice with a licensed Engineer for at least 5 years and you also have to take the engineer's exam and pass it.  By passing the test you also earn your stamp.  This as well is an extremely big deal and very regulated.  The stamp has his name & number which is exclusive to him on it.   There are alot of requirements to go along with that but way more then I even understand.  So here he is at the age of 25 and already done both and been issued his stamp.  So so proud.

Another One

Once again, Heather was the Salesperson of the month at work.  Isn't that awesome?  She is kicking ass and  I couldn't be more proud that she is rewarded for all she does.

July 17, 2012 Sisser's Classroom

I spent the morning helping Alicia set up her classroom for this year.  She moved rooms so everything had to be done as far as setting up shelves, books, desks etc.  I had the project of putting together her library area to start and then we worked on some other projects as well.

July 16, 2012 Sunset

It's a God thing.....totally Amazing!!!

Loud Birds, Not Love Birds

When you're sitting downstairs in the "Man Room" you can hear birds chirping soooo loud.  Sometimes it's really annoying because they are so loud.  It's been going on for a while and I swear there is an entire family living in our chimney.  Kev decided it was time to conquer the task of getting rid of them.  So after setting up the ladder to get up on the roof and then climbing that ladder with a ladder so that he would be able to get to the top of the chimney, he discovered that there was no way they could get in.  I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but there is a grate on the chimney opening so the whole bird thing living inside can't happen.  The noisy birds are just in the trees and are so loud that it echos right down the chimney so you think they are living in it.  The good thing is, no bird families lost their home, we just cut down the trees!!!

Wearing Glasses

It's not my fault I need glasses.  I have been wearing contacts since I was 20 years old.  I need them for distance.  So when I go to bed and take them out I have to wear my glasses to see the TV,  but I am also starting to need glasses to read.  So if I am reading or playing games on my phone in bed with the TV on I need both pairs.  It's not my fault either if I happen to fall asleep with them on.  It's better then falling asleep with my contacts in.

July 11, 2012 14 Years

Kev and I woke up and I said, "Happy Anniversary...Lucky 13"!!!  He said, "it's 14, you don't even know." True I didn't.  I knew it was our anniversary I just messed up on how many wonderful, amazing, loving (is this making up for not knowing?) years we've been married.  Kev came home in the middle of the day to bring me this beautiful bouquet of flowers.  He was all excited and said, "check it out, I didn't even buy the cheap ones, I bought you ones in a vase."  He's so awesome!!!
We met the kids at Valle Luna for happy hour to celebrate our completely blissful 14 years!!!

Paul's Cruise

Paul went on a cruise back in June so that he could see his girlfriend Sarah and spend some time with her on the cruise she was working on.  He spent a week with her starting out from the port of Baltimore where the ship was docked at.  They then went on to the Bahamas, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk.  Here are some pictures that I got off of Sarah's facebook page.

If you've never been on a cruise, your room steward makes
these cute little towel animals to leave on your bed.

July 6, 2012 Janet's Closet

Janet has been saying for a while now that she wants me to come up so we can work on her closet.  She needed to go through stuff, organize stuff, throw stuff out you know all that fun closet stuff!! I didn't think of it til after we got started that I didn't take a before picture but that's ok, you'll still be able to see how awesome it is now.  We had a good time spending quite a few hours getting it all done.  There were several times Janet had to talk me into letting her put something back in the closet when I said it should be thrown out, it was pretty funny.  Overall a very productive closet project.
These were empty hangers of stuff she was getting rid of.
Bags of stuff for Goodwill
Check it out...all nice & neat and you really can't tell,
but it's color coordinated.

Heather's Award

I can't believe I forgot to write a post about this.  I know I posted it on Facebook, but I still feel that Heather deserves her very own shout out on my blog.  She text this to me earlier in June, which I am assuming was after a staff meeting.  It's really awesome and I have to say Kev and I are so proud of her.  She works really hard at her job and is obviously very good at.  Way to go Heather...May Salesperson of the Month!!

July 2, 2012 New Wall

This is the wall in my bedroom on my side of the bed. I've had stuff on it before but it's been along time and it's just been bugging me about how boring it is.  I decided to get some stuff together and redo it.  Funny thing is is that I have had these pictures and shelf and just been trying to decide if I and where I was going to put them up.  I'm feeling like it's more complete now.

I also have a jar candle to put up on the shelf, but it's not up there to sturdy yet so I'll add that as soon as I secure the shelf better into the wall.

June 30, 2012 Saturday Night Bowling

We went bowling with our friends, Meredith & Dave and Rob & Michele and of course right away it became a competition.  Girls vs Guys.  So it was on and the first game we spanked them and of course they said it was just a warm up.  Then they won the 2nd game, so of course we had to play a third game and well......we should have stopped at 2 and said it was a tie.  They completely blew us away.

This is Dave's sign when he gets a strike
After game 2 when they beat us.
More gloating after game 3.

Alicia's Knee

Here's some pictures of Alicia's knee since her surgery.  She is doing really good.  Only wears her brace occassionally and is even driving.  She goes back to the Dr on July 9th to find out how it all is going and if she will be doing physical therapy etc.
This was the day after surgery @ Dr's office to check it out.
This is a week after surgery, getting her stitches out.
After stitches are out, June 28, 2012
12 days after surgery, July 3, 2012

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
