September 25, 2010 Veronica's Birthday Dinner

Went to Macayos Depot Cantina for dinner for Veronica's Birthday. Yummy food and awesome margarits so how can you go wrong?

JR was trying to count the Patron bottles so he could be in the contest, but the contest doesn't start til it's full. So he'll be back.

September 25, 2010 Alicia & Veronica...Brats

We were out to dinner for Veronica's birthday and I wanted a picture of Madeline & I with the girls. They thought they were being cute making sure that their tattoos got in the photo. I don't think I mentioned that Madeline is so pissed about Veronica's tatttoo that she won't even look at it, in fact she wouldn't even talk to her after she got it. So this is them being brats!!

This is a picture of each of their tattoos. Faith & Peace.

September 19, 2010 Alicia's new Tatoo

Let me just say.....I am not a big fan of tatoos but what are you going to do if your kids want them? It happens.

It started with this one. Alicia had this tatooed on her foot a couple of years ago. It is wings with a bell and in the bell are Grandpa's initials. It stands for the saying we had at his funeral, every time a bell rings an angel gets its' wings. So when you know that, how can you not like it?

Then her and Veronica decided to get tatoos for their birthdays this year. It is on their wrist and in the cross Alicia's says faith and Veronica's says peace. Jesenia is suppose to get the same one with the word love. They have been talking about the 3 of them getting matching tatoos for a while so now 2 of the 3 are done.

September 18, 2010 You Gotta Have Sole

Kev and Alicia had to celebrate their birthday at Grandma & Papa's Anniversry party since it fell on their actual day. They both said that it was nice of everyone to throw them such a big party!!

But the funniest thing happened. Lance invites Kev to go to the bar to do a birthday shot. Kev gets up and kind of does this little trip thing. I look down and the sole to his shoe is sitting on the ground. I pick it up and tell Alicia to tell Kev half his shoe is still at the table. He didn't even notice. We laughed so hard, he was walking around with no sole on his shoe. He decided he was going to tie it back on so he was taking ribbons from the gifts on the tables to use.

Then he tries to wear it as a sandal with no luck.

The shot still happened and as the night went on so did more shots so who needs soles on their shoes?

September 18, 2010 Grandma & Papa's 50th Wedding Anniversary

It was Madeline's Parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. First they renewed their vows at 5:00 mass at Queen of Peace and then had a party at a hotel. It was a fun night with lots of celebrating.

Grandma & Papa with Kev & I.

Isn't the cake topper beautiful? It's PartyLite!!!!

Grandma & Papa with all the grandkids. I missed the picture of the great grandkids.

September 6th - 10th 2010 Kev Hunting

After spending 2 weeks up North at Janet's and Colorado, we came home and then Kev got the trailer and headed up to Big Lake. He was meeting his friends up there for a week of hunting, fishing and camping. And did I mention beer drinking? Cause he left here with 6 18 packs!!!

Twig was the only one that ended up shooting a deer. It's actually pretty funny cause Kev always says how Twig has buck fever, meaning he sees his target, gets a great shot set up and then always misses. But not this time.

These are the guys that went. Kent, Twig, Mark & Kev plus Kev's brother Jimmy, who's taking the picture.

September 6, 2010 Painting Patchey's New House

Paul bought a new house. New to him but about 10 years old. We spent all day Labor Day, funny how that worked out, painting the entire inside. His two roommates, Mark & Eric helped plus Eric's brother Brad and then another friend Daren was there for a while and then Alicia's friend Lance came to work as well. With so many people we got alot done. It is going to look awesome when it's all finished.

Mark stuck in one of the bedrooms.

Brad took on the task of the Master Bathroom.

Eric can really use that roller.

But there are other things you can use a paint roller for.

September 4, 2010 Fun Night with WWF's

Kat invited everyone over for a little night of fun, food and friends. She had all kinds of low point foods and snacks that we all loved.

She made this amazing cake for Meredith since her birthday was coming up and it was from one of the recipes she is going to be putting in her new book, 100 ways to eat a Vitatop. The cake was Vitatops on the bottom, Fat Free Sugar Free Chocolate pudding on top of that, then Cool Whip Free on top with Raspberries. It was so yummy.

We did end up playing a few games of the $3.00 game as we have always called it. Most people call it LRC, for left, right center. Either way I lost $6.00!!

September 1, 2010 Yard Work

How can this really be called yard work? Check out that back yard. Jan had done some re-seeding of her grass and it is coming in really good. Kev gave it a quick mow before we left to come home. But I always say that whole forest is her back yard cause that's what you see when you sit up on the porch. Amazing!!

August 31, 2010 Million Dollar Highway

The Million Dollar Highway is the road that takes you from Durango to Silverton. Well I gotta tell ya, the view on the Million Dollar Highway is awesome, but the drive on the Million Dollar Highway, not so much. It is very high, very narrow and very curvey. There is also a train ride that will take you from Durango to Silverton, which alot of people do.

If you take some back roads behind Silverton they have all these old mine shafts. At one time it was a big mining town.

August 31, 2010 Favorite Colorado Hike

One of our favorite hikes is the Hermosa Creek Trail in Colorado. It is actually behind Jan's Condo and absolutely awesome. It is about 17 miles one way. We have never done the whole thing cause we would like to have a car at the other end, but one of these days that's our plan. We usually go about 5 miles and then turn around.

The whole trail follows this creek. It is all tree lined and just gorgeous. Hard to believe you're working so hard hiking with such a beautiful view the whole time.

Then you come upon this really cool wooden bridge. This is where we like to sit and have lunch and then turn around and go back.

Walking by this ranch on the way back to the truck, Kev says did you get a picture of my house? He really loves this ranch tucked away in the middle of nowhere.

August 30, 2010 Durango

In case you can't read the sign in the bushes it says Welcome to Durango. I had a hard time reading it myself let alone getting a picture of it while driving down the road as Kev says did you get that? Sure I did as you're going 45 mph. Get Serious!!

Once we got into Durango we got out of the truck right inside town and walked this really nice path that follows the Animas River. Nice little stretch of the legs after a long drive, and beautiful as well.

Self Timer....Awesome!!!

August 30, 2010 Four Corners

Headed up to Colorado to go to Jan's condo for a few days. We stopped at the four corners to check it out. When I had gone to the condo in March for sister's weekend it was closed, so I really wanted Kev to stop so I could see it.

Of course we had to get our picture standing in the middle of the Four Corners, but really lady in the background, you have to stand there and shade your eyes so you can see us?

So Kev says, "Well that's six dollars I'll never get back" Tightwad!!! They have all these little booths set up with Indians selling their wares. I told Kev if I had been here with my sisters we would have gone booth to booth and spent about 2 hours there, me & him 15 minutes!!! Out of the truck, picture, back in the truck.
Four Corners? Been there!!!
As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
