February 17, 2019 Garth Guy

We have concerts here at Encanterra that are big events.  We’ve seen some good ones and had great times, but they are saying that this year is the last year they are going to be doing them.  In March Credence Clearwater Revival and Three Dog Night are coming.  So because they say they’re not going to do big events that are starting to do smaller venues.  Last year we went to a concert with an Eagles tribute band and then they also had a Journey tribute band a few months ago.  Well this post is about the most recent one and he was called Garth Guy.  He was a Garth Brooks impersonator.  Funny thing is the concert was suppose to be like others we’ve had where they are outside on the golf course.  Well because the weather was cold and there was a chance of rain they moved it indoors.  Well we were all pissed.  We wanted to sit out in blankets all relaxed and hear the concert outside.  All of us said we wouldn’t have paid momey to sit inside on a chair to watch this guy.  But it was a last minute change and we figured we wouldn’t end up getting a refund so we’d go and make the most of it.  When we got there we sat in the very back and I gotta say it was great.  We had a ton of fun and because we were in the back we stood up and danced and just did our own thing.  He was really good and we totally loved it.  After the concert we sat out by Kev’s favorite fire pit and enjoyed the rest of the night.

February 19, 2019 Uptown Jump

Kev promised the girls that once a month we would take them to Uptown Jump on a Wednesday because that’s the day they have early release.  Plus that way it would give us a day to spend some time with them doing what they like.  We saw them a couple weeks ago on a Thursday and Annaliese was all over Kev about the fact that the day before was Wednesday and we didn’t come take them
to go jump.  He explained to her that it wasn’t going to be every Wednesday but once a month.  Well tomorrow is the last Wednesday of the month and we have plans so we decided to take them today instead.  They love going there and having the chance to jump on the trampolines, ride the slides and do the climbing walls.  Today Annaliese and Santanah did a lot of climbing on the different walls.  They’ve gotten really good at it.  Avah is too small to do it so she does a lot of sliding and playing on other toys.

February 17, 2019 Annabelle’s Ballet Class

Sarah had posted on Facebook that Annabelle had her first ballet class.  I saw the pictures and just could not get over how cute she was in her little tutu.  I sure do miss her, my cute baby girl.

February 16, 2019 Hockey

Yvonne and Greg’s favorite hockey team is the Toronto Maple Leafs.  They were in town to play the Coyotes and the group of us went.  Before the game we met up with some other people from Encanterra who also are Canadians routing for the Leafs.  We met at Yard House to eat before the game.  We had a table outside and saw tons of fans wearing their Toronto shirts, in fact way more then Coyotes.  I’m not a huge hockey fan but it was fun to go and then cheer for the Coyotes when they scored.  The Coyotes won 2-0.

February 3, 2019 My Birthday

My Birthday usually always falls around the Super Bowl.  This year it fell on Super Bowl Sunday.  I didn’t have any big plans so we decided to go to lunch with the kids and then everyone would be home to watch the game.  I wanted to go to San Tan Brewery cause I wanted the yummy dessert they make.   I had done the Whole30 eating plan up until my birthday knowing that I was going to eat something off the plan plus a special treat.  So I ordered the Mac and Cheese with brisket and Kev had ordered this skillet meal.  Funny thing was he didn’t really like it and I felt like the Mac and Cheese was too heavy so we swapped.  The skillet was similar to what I had been eating all month so I thought it was delicious.  And the Sex Panther Brownie was even more delicious.

Later in the day around game time we went over to Mindy and Greg’s with the Dukes to watch the game.  Actually us girls played Mexican Train while the guys watched the game.  We had some yummy food plus a couple birthday shots.

February 1, 2019 End of Whole30

I did it.  I followed the Whole30 for the entire month.  It was good and I am proud to say I did not slip or cheat once.  I feel good and don’t feel like I missed out on eating anything.  When I am focused I stay on track and I was focused.  I am going to follow it at least for a couple more days until my birthday, but I already know I am going to eat something noncompliant as well as a yummy dessert when we go to lunch with the kids to celebrate.  We’re going to San Tan Brewery and I love the food there but especially want their seasonal dessert called sex panther brownie.
But for now I followed all the rules and ended up losing 12 lbs.  Super happy about that even though I get frustrated with the fact that if I hadn’t gotten out of hand over the holidays I’d already be lower. But....can’t focus on that, it is what it is.
And as far as my walking, that’s still happening as well.  Funny cause there have been quite a few nights where I’m sitting here at like 8:00 and say to Kev, ugh I gotta go do my mile.  But I’ve done it.  It doesn’t count if I’ve already played pickle and gotten a bunch of steps doing that, I have to actually go for a walk.  There’s been a few days I’ve walked more then just a mile so that’s good too.   Plus I’m doing a StepBet with Janet and Diane so I need my actual steps to stay in that and make sure I reach my step goals.
I am going to loosen a little with the Whole30, but I have to make sure I don’t go crazy.  Besides putting on weight when I eat bad I really don’t feel good.  I have to stay on track and still work to get some more weight off.

January 30, 2019 Good Life Pickleball Tournament

Yvonne and I have played in a few tournaments this season so far and we’ve had some wins and losses but this tournament we finally placed in the top three.  So we officially got the Bronze.  This tournament was one that everyone in our bracket is girls we play with pretty regularly in different groups so it was really fun.  This tournament also gives out thermal cups as their medals, so that’s nice too.

January 9, 2019 Quadding

Kev and I spent the day out riding our quads out in Queen Valley.  It was a great day to ride.  Kind of cool weather wise, plus it had rained a few days before so it wasn’t dusty which was nice.

January 1, 2019 New Year

Once again it’s the start of a new year.  For me the new year always starts with the list of what I’m gonna do this year, ok let’s call it what it is....resolutions, and the top one is always lose weight.  I should really just lose weight so that’s not on my list anymore lol.  So I decided to start the year off doing another Whole30.  There are some things I like about the Whole30 that keep me going back to doing it.  For one it’s strict and sometimes for me strict is best.  Then I feel good when I do it.  I eat better and I sleep better.  Plus in the past I have lost weight when I’ve done it as well.  I let myself once again get out of control the last few months and I’m starting at a weight that I am just not happy about but I know it’s my own fault.  Anyways today is January 1st and it’s the first day of my Whole30.
Another thing I decided was that I was going to walk every day.  There were a couple times that my friend Meredith and I did a thing where we had to walk a mile a day minimum.  It was usually for a certain time frame like 4th of July to Labor Day or something like that.  But I decided to start that today as well.  I have to walk at least a mile but more is good too.
I’ll post again at the end of my Whole30 to update how that was and also if I’m still doing my mile a day.

December 29, 2018 6 months old

I can’t believe that the twins are already six months old and yet it’s hard to imagine what it was like before them.  They continue to grow and do new things every day.  They are so much fun.  Check out the difference between them in this side by side photo.

December 25, 2018 Christmas Day

We had a pretty laid back Christmas this year.  We invited everyone to come here so before they all did we did our family Christmas with Alicia, Arnold the kids and Heather and David.  The golf course is closed on Christmas so Kev and David went out and played a round and then we opened some presents when they got back.
Then in the afternoon Mary, Teresa, Colleen & Craig as well as Kristien, Heath and the girls came over.  Barbara and Tommy were in Texas with Nicole and Hunter and Jess and the kids couldn’t make it.   It was a fun day just spending time together.  For some reason I didn’t really take pictures.  But of course I got one of the twins in their little Christmas outfits.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
