 Today’s Pic of the Day:

This was a memory that came up on Facebook.  I can’t believe Janet and I hiked the canyon rim to rim 10 years ago.  If you want to know the story, I made a post all about it on this blog.  It’s quite a story, but there is one thing that is different now then 10 years ago.  At the time I said I’d never do it again, but now I’m saying I’d do it again.  Maybe some day we will.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

Kev is always making funny of me because for the one game I play, Hydration Nation, you have to take a picture of yourself drinking water.  He decided he wanted to be in it today.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

I went up to Flag for an overnight with my friends June and Kim.  We went up to Munds Park where our other friend Kathy has a new cabin.  We came up last night and today went in to downtown Flagstaff to wander around and eat.  Found some cute shops and a fun bar to grab a drink.  We ate at a yummy Mexican restaurant.  To finish the day we played some card games.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

I got home last night around 3:30 am.  We all left the facility after packing all Teresa’s stuff  and stuff in the room.  I got home and crawled into bed.  Usually Kev doesn’t wake up when I come to bed but somehow he knew I was there and he woke up and rolled over and just held me while I cried myself to sleep.  It was rough.  He knew I needed him.  ❤️

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

This is a hard post for me to write.  It’s actually taken me a while to be able to even do so.  Teresa died this morning just after midnight.  These last few days have included lots of emotions.  Since Teresa had come to the facility she hasn’t been awake.  Occasionally it seemed like she was listening to conversations but she never woke up or said anything.  The nurse that had been on duty the last couple nights came on and talked to Mary and Greg and told them she saw a definite difference since the night before, she actually thought Teresa wouldn’t make it through the night.  It was Mary, Greg, Colleen, Barbara, Alicia and I hanging out in the room.  We sat and played some music talked about some Teresa stories and just filled the room with love.  Around 11:30 Alicia went home and then Colleen decided to go check on the dog and cat around 12:15.  We, Mary, Greg, Barbara and I were settling in to spend the night.  Mary went down the hall to brush her teeth and I looked at Teresa and she moved a little and I went over to talk to her and she kind of opened her eyes.  I told her we were all there and we saw her and loved her.  Mary came back and I told her to come here, Teresa’s eyes are open.  Both her and Greg talked to her and then she just took her last breath.  It was so peaceful.  But so so sad.  It was final.  She was gone.

Colleen had been struggling with not being sure if she wanted to be there when it happened and we were all convinced that Teresa waited til she was gone.  Colleen hadn’t been gone 15 mins when Teresa took her last breath.  Greg called her and she came right back.  It was hard knowing it was our last goodbye.

I am still doing my walking streak.  Here’s a pic of my walk from last night that I did around the Hospice facility cause I hadn’t done my mile yet and was there all day.  I think it was 8 or 9 times around for a mile.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

It was a good day today for Teresa.  The nurses came in and give her a bath and they did her hair and put a nice night shirt on her.  It seemed to freshen her up and she looked relaxed as we decorated her bed with her sunflower quilt.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

I was playing pickle this morning and got a call that Teresa had been moved to Hospice.  I went home and showered and headed to Glendale.  When I got there Mary was telling me all about how they had come to this point.  Teresa had been very agitated and could not get comfortable or sleep.  The nurse had suggested that it was time to move to the Hospice facility so they could make her comfortable.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

I wish I had my video going for this picture.  Eli put his hand out like he was gonna pet the duck and it came right up to him and nipped at his hand.  He was shocked and I just started laughing .

                        A little butt crack action

The kids spent the night so we were trying to keep them busy.  We took them to Mansell park and they played on the playground and then played at the splash pad.  I know it’s October but it’s still warm enough to be playing in the water.

Once we got home Kev pulled out the Halloween box and the kids played around with some of the stuff in

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

It’s not the bike that Eli is riding that is the point of this picture, but it’s his hat.  This hat has been around since Annaliese was small and it’s so funny how it gets pulled out here and there by one of the kids.

We had all the kids today so we took them down to the Pickleball courts to play around.  I had a friend give me a mini paddle and Eli basically thought it was his.  We had balls everywhere and when I we told them to pick the balls up, Emery had her own very efficient way.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
