May 24, 2019 Pirate Party

They are always doing different things here at Encanterra, and the newest event was a Pirate Party.  They had some cool decorations as well as some specialty drinks, a costume contest and a dj for entertainment.  Some people went all out with their outfits.  I didn’t dress up but I got Kev an eye patch and that was pretty much his costume.

May 22, 2019 Santanah’s Kindergarten Graduation

Kev and I went to see Santanah’s Kindergarten graduation ceremony.  It was cute to see all these little kids sing songs and try to show off for everyone watching.

After the ceremony we took the three girls to Puoneer Park in Mesa.  They redid the whole park and put in this awesome playground.  The girls loved it. 

May 17, 2019 Craft Day

It was time for our girls craft day again and this time it was Mindy’s turn.  She had our friend Janice come and teach us how to make wreaths.  Janice is super crafty and makes amazing wreaths so this was right up her alley.  She had all the supplies all cut and ready for us to go.

So funny thing happened after we made our wreaths.  Kev and I were cruising the hood in the golf cart and he decided we should steal all the girls wreaths.  So we drove around and took them all off of their front doors.  Cheryl actually text the next morning and said her wreath was stolen and then Mindy and Yvonne saw their wreaths were gone too and right away blamed Kev.  So he took this picture and send it to all of them.  

May 11, 2019 Mixed Tournament

Kev kept saying that he wanted to do his own tournament. He’s kind of sick of tournaments and says he doesn’t want to do any in the upcoming season.  So as a first one he organized a mixed tournament to be played at Encanterra.  He invited a bunch of different people and they had to have their own partner to participate.  The cost was $10 per person.  I made a bracket for the play and the morning of the tournament we randomly drew names and paired up who was going to play who.  It was a huge success.  Everyone loves coming to play.  He payed money to the top three teams and then all the teams that didn’t win had their names put in a hat and he drew one team that got their money back.  It turned out that people had nothing but good things to say and want him to keep doing them.  And the fun thing that happened too was that if a team lost they still just hung around and played more games with other teams that had lost.  It really was fun.

May 9, 2019 Carrie Underwood Concert

My friend, Terry, that I met thru PartyLite called me and said she wanted to have a girls night and go to the Carrie Underwood concert.  She named a few girls that were going and also wanted Kim and I to go as well.  So we did.  Kim and I  went to dinner together before the concert and then met everyone else at the arena.  It was a really good concert and was happy to spend time with Terry and Kim who I don’t see very often.

May 3, 2019 Marti & Jay’s Birthday Party

A couple that we know in the neighborhood, Marti & Jay, were throwing themselves a 70th birthday party.  They held it here at Encanterra.  It was a fun night with lots of friends that were invited to celebrate with them.  They hired caterers, a dj and had an open bar.  I told Kev not to get any ideas for his 70th birthday cause his would be in the backyard lol.   

April 24, 2019 Heather got Engaged

Heather and David went to Thailand for a vacation.  Then after Thailand they went to Australia to see Paul, Sarah and Annabelle.
She posted some pictures now and then on Instagram and even sent some to Kev and I to see how their vacation was going.  We were sitting here one morning and she called.  We thought they were just calling to check in.  So on the phone David says Kev I did something, and Kev was like oh no what happened, you break a leg?  And he was like no I asked your daughter to marry me.  We were so excited.  It was such great news.  They also told us all the fun adventures they had been going on and what else there had coming up, plus they were then headed to Australia.
The funny thing about them getting engaged is that Heather was kind of disappointed cause she didn’t think it was gonna happen.  She had told Alicia a few days before that she didn’t think they weee gonna get engaged cause they had an appointment to look at rings the Friday after they got back from
their trip.  Plus when they were on the phone she told us that he kept setting up his tripod and she thought that ok maybe he was gonna ask but then he didn’t.  And she said something to him about that she keeps thinking he’s gonna ask cause he keeps setting his tripod up.  He told her they weren’t getting engaged on the trip, they have a ring appt when they get back.  And then on one of their excursions he had someone take pictures and he asked.  You can see in the picture she’s shocked.  And the whole ring thing, he took her best friend ring shopping so he had a ring with him.

April 20, 2019 Easter Bunny at Encanterra

They bring the Easter Bunny here for kids to play and take pictures with him.  Usually there’s an egg hunt but this year they just had pictures and all kinds of jumpy houses.  Alicia brought the girls for pictures and then Hunter and Jess dropped the girls off so they could play for a while.

April 13, 2019 Pregnancy Announcement

Alicia and Arnold are pregnant again.  And that means she needed some way to make an announcement on Facebook.  We came up with this idea using jelly beans since she was going to announce it around Easter weekend.

We also tried to take some Easter pictures too, 

but it had to be quick cause the girls were trying to eat the jelly beans. 

 

April 11, 2019 Exploring Houses

Every now and then Yvonne, Mindy, Cheryl and I will go out and check out new houses that are being built. It’s crazy cause there are so many being built in the compound right now.  We love to see what people put in their houses as far as the tile, cabinets, granite etc.  And we like to see them at the stage where all that stuff is in.  Sometimes we get really lucky and all the houses we try to check out are unlocked and we can get in and then other times we don’t get so lucky.  We always try the front door first and if that’s locked then we go around back or in the garage to see if there’s an open door.  If not we have to settle for just peering in the windows.  Funny thing that happened this last outing, we couldn’t get in the door so we started peering in the windows.  We looked in one window and Yvonne says, hey there’s a computer plugged in right there.  So she and Cheryl wander back to the golf cart while Mindy and I go around back and start flashing our flash lights and have our faces against the window and I say, there’s a couple chairs in there and that looks like a welcome basket on the counter.  So all the doors were locked and we went on our way.  The next day Yvonne was driving  by the house and the garage went up and there were a couple cars in it.  Soooo there were people living in there and we didn’t know it. lol
Here’s a pic of a house we did get in and it had a huge shower that 20 people could have fit in.

April 4, 2019 Lainey’s Crazy Hair

The Twins were going to spend the night and Alicia was still over so we decided instead of giving them a bath I’d take them in the shower to get them all washed up.  They did pretty good and liked sitting there playing with some toys.

Now check out Lainey’s hair.  It is so crazy after she has it washed and it's all wet.  She has a head of curls.  When I showed Alicia these pictures I told her to look at little Patchey with that crazy hair.  Paul had the same hair when he was a baby, lots of curls.
