August 10, 2010 Mowing the Lawn

I don't have any photos of this awesome event, but I thought it still needed it's own post. I was feeling bad since it's been so hot out and Kev has just been dying in this heat, so I told him I was going to mow the lawn for him. He kind of chuckled and said I'll do it, it's fine. But then I got up and was going out to mow and I asked Kev what to do. He said, push the button 3 times and then pull. So I go outside, get the mower in the grass, push the button 3 times and I pull. And I pull again, and then again. And it started!!!! So off I went. I mowed the back and the front. I have to say, I was kind of excited. Now the mowing did not include edging. That's a whole new task I still have to learn but not really sure I want to. Almost every time Kev is out there edging, the edger gets tossed across the yard and choice words are spoken. Just not sure I'm ready for it. When Kev came home from work, he said the yard looked awesome. It even looked better then when he does it. That's code for I hope you keep doing it so I don't have to.

July 30, 2010 Conference Product Expo

After the new line of product is introduced, there is a Product Expo that everyone can go and wander around. It's really awesome the way they have all the new prodcut displayed. Plus they give out sample scents, TSG snacks and just an all around fun experience.

Then when we leave the expo we have a bag with some samples and free goodies.

July 30-31 PartyLite Friends at Conference

Conference isn't always all work and no play. We do try to go out a night or two when we are there just for some fun and friendship. The restaurant right in our hotel was lots of fun, had yummy food and was great at serving drinks!!!

Angie & Terry having way too much fun with their Pomegranate Martinis!!!

June & Beth sharing their cocktails.

June took over drinking Darcy's drink, cause Darcy says she's a light weight!!

Kathy and I wanted to be part of a toast as well, me with my empty glass of milk and her with her constant drink of choice, diet coke. She misses the fact that I don't drink diet coke with her anymore.

Kim's 2nd empty martini glass!!!

It's a tradition that Kim and I have a party in our room for the girls in our units on the last night of conference. Along with that tradition is the photo of the group on the bed. This year was one of the smallest groups we had, but still lots of fun.

July 29, 2010 Opening Session at Conference

Opening Session at Conference is always so exciting. It's the start of 3 fun filled, training packed days. It's only once a year, but we all look forward to it every year.

July 29, 2010 Leader Session at Conference

The first day of Conference opens early if you are a leader. Since last years Conference I have become a leader and was recognized at the leader session. All new leaders got to go up and be recognized and strut their stuff across stage. After this session, leaders are treated to a nice sit down lunch.

These are a few of the Arizona leaders that are in our Region. Marie Stoltz, Terry McDow, Kim Moore & myself.

July 28, 2010 St Louis

Went to St Louis for my PartyLite conference. We have had conference there several times and just love it there. We know our way around, we like the city and we have our favorite hotel we stay at. One of the reasons is that they have free hot breakfast every morning and free happy hour each night. We got into St Louis the day before the conference started and of course had to hit happy hour!!!

The hotel we stay at is right by the Arch. So a couple of mornings I got up and went for a walk all around the park by the Arch. It's real pretty and tree lined and right next to the Mississipi River.

July 26, 2010 Papercut

Don't you just hate papercuts? Have you ever had a papercut on your eye? Well that's what happened. Alicia had just signed her new lease agreement papers and was getting in the car with them in her hand. She turned and slice.....she got a papercut on her eyeball. She called to tell me she had done it and how bad it hurt. Then within an hour she called back, crying!!! It was now burning. Kev & I went to pick her & her car up. On the way home she stopped at one of the people she babysits for who is a doctor, and she looked at it and gave her some eyedrops. She told her to keep it patched and put some ice on it. It was better by the next day!!!

July 23, 2010 Decorating Alicia's Classroom

I got to be the Teacher's Helper!!! I met Alicia down at her new classroom and she put me to work. We set up all the bulletin boards, moved desks and just got ready for her new students.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
