 Today’s Pic of the Day:

I finished playing pickle this morning came home and ate something and then went for my walk.  When I got home I remembered I still needed to do my squats for the day.  I was already sweating so bad I decided to just do my squats outside.

One of the games I play on the app I joined is called Super Squat.  I have to do squats, a minimum of 10 every day and it is a time lapsed video submitted to the game. Usually I do between 40-50.   Today I had a video bomber.

We had to go home today ☹️ Our week at the beach was over.  Even though we stayed up in Carlsbad we drove to Encinitas and went to a place called Solana Beach.  We found a great little spot and it was easy to park and walk.  Plus up in Carlsbad the waves were breaking right at the shore so it was really hard to get in and out of the water.  The waves were still rough at Solana Beach but they were good for boogie boarding and basically doing some heavy exercising fighting the waves.  Fun time at the beach.  I ❤️ the ocean.

Another great sunset on the beach.  Tonight we went out to eat and then down to the beach so I could walk and we could see the sunset.  You just can’t beat a sunset over the ocean.

Kev loves to boogie board when we are at the ocean.  We actually went to 3 stores to buy one and they were all sold out.  When he went to rent one at one place it was $14 an hour.  So he didn’t do it.  Then today we went to a different place he found that you can rent a board for $20 for the day.  He went in to get one that he was gonna rent and came out with a brand new one.  Since we are here til Friday it was cheaper to buy it then rent it each day.  Look how happy he is.

The waves have been really crazy.  They have been good to swim and boogie board in but they have also been really hard at breaking and dragging you everywhere. The water is nice and refreshing but by the time you get out you’re exhausted.

It’s hard to believe we are at the beach and I’m posting a picture of my food from lunch.  I love the restaurant The Islands and the one by us closed down.  It was always one of the two places I would pick for my birthday dinner.  I’m sure you know the other one is Oreganos.  Anyway, we went to play some Pickleball this morning and then stopped there after to eat.  Yummy!!! I had my favorites, a bowl of tortilla soup and then the Yaki, which is teriyaki chicken, with pineapple and tomatoes in a tortilla.   A twist on an ordinary taco.

We decided to go to the beach since our road trip vacation was put on hold.  Kev found a place up in Carlsbad for a few days and we’d never stayed up that way.  It’s been years since we have been to the ocean so of course I wanted to test the water.  It was weird though cause the waves were crashing right at the shore so I couldn’t really get in and then it was hard getting back out lol

And of course there’s nothing like a sunset on the beach.

Alicia and the kids came over today and we went to the pool to swim.  Kev took the twins and Vincent in the golf cart and then Alicia and I had Eli in her truck.  After we swam we were walking back to the truck and saw all these tennis balls that were in the bushes.  The tennis players at sometime hit them and never went and got them.  We had Eli rounding them up.  It was so cute.  He was going in bushes and walking down the walkways.  He’d pick them up and then put them in the bag I was carrying.

It’s monsoon season so there have been some pretty good storms these last few weeks.  Caught a picture of these awesome clouds as the sun was setting when I went out on my walk tonight.

After Kev and I left Twigs today we stopped in Pinetop to do a hike.  It was so awesome to see all the wildflowers in bloom all along the trail.

We went to Nelson Reservoir to do some fishing today.  I, as usual, didn’t fish but everyone else did.  And we were at a honey hole!!! They were all catching so many fish.

Kev and I went up to Springerville to see Twig and Shirley at their new house on their new ranch.  Mark and Barb were also up there so the six of us got to hang out.  Twig and Mark as well as Shirley have been friends since elementary school.

On Tuesdays I get paid for the games that I played and won from the previous two weeks.  And like I’ve said before, it’s not lots of money but the games are fun and a few dollars here and there adds up.  This week it’s $2.47!!!

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

I played Pickleball this morning and then afterwards I decided to get my walk out of the way.  The courts were empty cause it was too hot for anyone to play so I just kept doing laps around them. After a few laps I would do a couple rounds of going up and down the stairs too.   After I did my walk, which wasn’t very long, I did my squats I needed to do for one of the games I’m playing.

I saw these on Instagram and thought they were cute.  I think next time I do some chocolate covered strawberries I’m going to have to try them.

 Today’s Pic of the Day:

Today was a sad day for Kev.  His older brother Rodney died.  He got a call last week that he was dying and Rodney even called to tell him goodbye.  We waited to hear any news and it seemed like Rodney was hanging in there, Kev even talked to him again a couple days ago.  He and his brother Jimmy decided they were going to Texas to see him.  They were going to leave this afternoon, but he died this morning.  It was Rodney’s way of telling them not to come and see him like that.  He wanted them to remember him how he used to be.  He was 70 years old.

I met Alicia and the kids at the splash pad at Gilbert Regional Park.  We got there at 8:30 and there weren’t too many kids there which was nice.  It’s a fun little place and the kids loved running around and playing in all the water spots and waterfalls.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
