April 30, 2020 Zoom Call

A couple weeks ago I had a group text going with my high school girlfriends and it came up that we should do a zoom call.  So we did I think the next day.  Funny thing when we were talking about it I said that the call was only good for 40 minutes and a couple people were no it’s unlimited.  I said it’s unlimited if you pay for it otherwise we will get cut off in 40 minutes.  No one believed me. Low and behold 40 minutes in, blank screen.  Haha I tried to tell them.  We had another one right away and realized we’ll get cut off at 40 minutes.
So tonight we had another call.  This time we knew it would cut off in 40 minutes so at the 40 minute mark Chag set up the second call while we all went to the bathroom and got a refill on drinks.  It’s actually been fun getting on the calls.  We do keep in touch now and then with a random text but the calls have been great being face to face with everyone.  We really only see each other when we get together on our annual trip.  This year our trip’s suppose to be to Nashville, but not sure with everything going on if it will actually happen.

April 30, 2020 Yvonne’s Morning Pickleball

Since today was Yvonne's birthday her only request was to play Pickleball.  We only have four courts to play on and they are first come first serve.  This time of year with it being so hot everyone wants to play first thing in the morning.  The last few days the courts have been full by 6:00 am so we decided we needed to play at 5:30 so we could get a court.  Lyn, one of the girls I play with, doesn’t like to play when it gets warm so the earlier the better.  I wanted to decorate the court for Yvonne so Lyn, Linda and I met down at the courts at 5:15, one to decorate and two, to make sure we got one of the four courts.  It was still dark when I got up but I dragged myself out of bed and down to the courts.  We put some signs and ribbons around the court and Yvonne was surprised when she saw it all.  It was really funny cause Linda gave her a gift bag that had two rolls of toilet paper in it and then I gave her a mini hand sanitizer I just got yesterday from Bath & Body Works.  We ended up playing pickle for 3 hours and just had a great morning considering it was going to be the highlight of her stay at home birthday.
Oh and notice in the pictures that the sun isn’t even up yet. lol

April 27 - 28, 2020 Up on the Rim

Kev and I decided to go up to the rim for the day and hang out. He wanted to see if there were any places available that we could rent space for a trailer.  He’s back on the “getting a new trailer” kick.  We have really missed ours since we got rid of it.  At first we didn’t think we would but having done tent camping the last few years we realized we do.  So we checked where spaces were available cause then we wouldn’t have to tow it up the hill if and when we get one. We also stopped so I could do one of my favorite hikes.  It’s funny cause a good portion of it runs right along the side the road but then the other side is the rim and it’s like being up on top of the world.  You can see for miles all the rolling hills and mountains and it’s just so pretty.  Kev pulled in the one parking lot and we set off to hike.  He said to let him know when we’re a mile in cause he thought he’d be able to do two miles.  His knee has been bothering him so he figured that would be enough.  We got about 1/2 mile in and he decided that was enough.  We decided he was going to go back to the truck and I was gonna keep walking and he was going to meet me at the last parking lot along the road. There are three different parking lots along the rim road so that people can get out and either hike the trail or see the pretty view. Well I kept walking and for some reason I thought there was another parking lot after the last parking lot and I went too far so when I got to the end of where I was walking Kev wasn’t there so I turned around and was walking back to the parking lot I thought he would be at and then he saw me while he was driving down the road I ended up doing a little over 3 miles which was a nice walk especially because I love that view.

This was a painted rock that someone left right on the edge.
Made me feel good seeing it.
We had lunch and went fishing at Willow Springs.  No fish :(
 Kev fishing

 Me fishing.... lol

We decided to stay overnight and just slept in the back of the truck.  It was comfy but we got too hot. We thought it was gonna be colder so we layered all these blankets and Kev ended up throwing all his on me so I was double hot lol

Before we came home we stopped at Bear Canyon Lake and Kev wanted another try at fishing.  The thing about Bear Canyon is that you have to hike to the lake.  It’s a pretty steep hill but Kev said he’d just take his time.  It wasn’t bad going down but he was struggling going up, mainly cause he was hurting.  Again no fish, but still a good day out.  And the weather up there is definitely cooler then down here.

April 21, 2020 Quadding

The weather is starting to warm up so Kev and I decided to take the quads out again and go for a ride before it gets too hot.  Us going out to ride the quads is good for us to do especially since we’re supposed to be social distancing.  We only saw three people the entire time we were out riding and it was a nice day to go and get out of the house.

April 18, 2020 Annabelle is 3

I was lucky enough to have my Friday night phone call be Annabelle’s birthday.  When Paul called and Annabelle was there I was singing happy birthday to her and when I finished she proceeded to tell me that it was her birthday even though she singing happy birthday along with me. Super cute.  While we were on the phone she discovered that she had a new Playhouse out in the backyard and I heard her asking Paul is that for me? After she was  done discovering her playhouse with the doors and the windows she then wanted me to go into her playroom with her so she could show me her new kitchen. While she was playing in the kitchen when we were on FaceTime together she was making breakfast for Paul and then she made some for me and just having a great time. She’s so cute and I miss seeing her in person.

April 7, 2020 Full Moon

They’d been talking on the news for days about this full moon that was coming that was supposed to be gorgeous.  I kind of forgot about it but then I was out on my walk and sure enough it really was pretty spectacular.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
