July 20, 2010 Alicia signs her Teaching Contract

Alicia got a teaching job at Fowler Elementary School, which is on 67th Ave & Van Buren. She will be teaching 4th Grade. I rode with her to the district office so that she could go sign her contract and get all her paperwork. I waited in the car cause she said she didn't want to look like a little kid if I went in with her. I really just went for the ride so she could use the carpool lane. But when she came out I had to jump out and snap a photo of the official day. Congratulations Sisser, you're going to be an awesome teacher!!!!

July 16, 2010 Satellite TV

He just won't give up. We switched to satellite TV so that Kev could take a portable satellite with him and then he would be able to catch some sports now and then while we're camping. You just hook up this portable thing, and it is suppose to hone right in and boom you're watching TV.

Only it wasn't that easy. We were having a hard time finding a satellite. So we load everything into the truck drive around set it all up so we can find a spot where it works. It's really quite the system. Then we have to see if it's a spot we want to move our campsite to.

But low & behold....it connected right at our camp when it was in a special spot. Can you say spoiled? Is it really camping when you can take a shower, cook on a stove, and watch satellite TV? It is for us!!!

July 14, 2010 Chevlon Lake

Kev had decided that he wanted to go fish at Chevlon Lake cause believe it or not, he had never been there. And there's a reason for that. We started out riding the quads about 6 miles to get to the top of the trailhead which leads to the lake. It is straight downhill, but it was a nice overcast day. We walked all the way to the bottom only to have trouble finding a place to fish but it is really beautiful down there. Then the sun came out and boy is it hot, muggy and full of bugs down there.

It wasn't a successful fishing lake at all, Kev caught one fish and then the clouds started to move in. We figured we better head back up the hill cause that was going to take a while, and then we still had to ride back to camp.

With all those clouds, it was bound to happen. It started out slow, but about 1/2 way up the trail it started pouring so Kev whipped out the ponchos. This was my first time wearing a rain pancho, and let me tell you, those things really work. I was pretty much dry by the time we got back to camp.

July 13, 2010 Eagle Update

I told you how there is an Eagle's nest at Wood's Canyon Lake, so I wanted to give you an update. We saw the Eagle Parents flying around the lake and at one point one of them flew down and snatched a fish right out of the water. It was really cool. Then when we were walking around the lake we stopped at the point where you can see the nest. The two babies were "branching". That's what they call it when they start hanging out more on the branches instead of in the nest, because they are getting ready to leave.

July 11, 2010 Our Anniversary

Today is our 12 Year Wedding Anniversary. Once again I have to say how lucky I am to have someone love me the way that Kev does. Just look how cute we are together!!

July 10, 2010 Meredith hits Lifetime

My friend Meredith from Weight Watchers reached Lifetime today. What that means is that she reached her weight loss goal, then she maintained it for at least 6 weeks. This then makes her a lifetime member. She has lost 105.2lbs. Isn't that amazing? Weight Watchers awards you for reaching Lifetime with a certificate and of course everyone cheering for you, but because Meredith became a lifetime member after losing 100lbs WW sends someone from the corporate office to present her with her certificate & some flowers.

This is a picture of Meredith, our leader Debi, and Meredith's husband Dave.

Way to go Meredith....when I grow up (I mean down) I want to be just like you!! Congratulations, you should be so proud of all your hard work.

July 7, 2010 Bahama Mama Night

Once again, it was a night out with the Bahama Mamas. It was Holly's turn to plan and she decided we all needed to go and have a pedicure. It was a nice treat followed by dinner at Native New Yorker.

July 4, 2010 4th of July at Janet's

Spent the 4th of July weekend up at Janet's house. Mary, Barbara and a couple of Mary's friends also came and spent the weekend. On the 4th, Jan had a really nice BBQ with a bunch of people that she works with at NAU and their families.

Everyone was taking different pictures and someone suggested we do a head stack. So we tried it....came out pretty cute except that Diane is missing.
As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
