I have a ton of updates to write about but for now I thought posting the most current pictures of the grand babies would be an easy post.  Plus you can see the comparison of the picture from October from my previous post.

Grandpa's Girls

Kev has this picture as his background on his phone and he'll open it and say to me...."look at my girls."

Santanah Rose

Perfect post to update my blog with.  Our 2nd grand baby is here.  It's another girl and she was born on  August 26th at 8:34 am.  She weighed in at 8 lbs 1.4 oz and 20 inches long.   I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story, which is how cute she is, how she has a ton of hair and of course how proud grandpa is!!!

So what do you think? Do they look like sisters?
Santanah has the dark hair and Annaliese has the lighter hair.
Both look so different but of course both are so cute.

July 20, 2013 Vaca Day 7

Our last day of vacation :(  We drove down from Toronto, but only after our free breakfast and a few more trips down the slide, to Niagra Falls.  At Niagra falls we were just going to spend the day wandering around all the tourist trap streets as well as around the Falls.

I did find another stand for my new favorite snack but passed it up.  This one looks really authentic with the Beavers and everything.
We found a place that totally appealed to Kev....you could get buckets of beer in there.  So we decided to sit for a little bit and grab something to eat.  I had this awesome bruschetta, and it tasted as good as it looks.
Then the decision was made.  We were here in Niagra Falls so we needed to do Niagra Falls the right way.  The way just about every other tourist would do it.  We  got our tickets and headed for the boat.  We were going on the Maid of the Mist tour.
I got some pictures going into the falls and coming out, but none while we were actually in them.  I was protecting my phone!!

This is the bridge that joins the US side to the Canada side.  We were on the Canada side.
It was really cool and we all agreed we were glad we did take the time to do it.  We had said the first night that we were ok with just checking it out in daylight and at night with the colors, but this was awesome!! You literally get soaked from the heavy mist that the Falls give off.  And we can say we were there, in the Falls.  So cool!!!
Now that the night had come to an end it was time to head to our hotel.  We unfortunately had a really bad hotel.  The worst one of the trip, definitely one we'll never forget.  It happens and thank goodness it was only for a few hours.  We had to leave by 5:30 to try and catch a flight.  Last day of vacation has come to an end, we're heading home.

July 19, 2013 Vaca Day 6

Did I tell you about the heat wave that Canada is having?   Haha I know I have but boy it's all they talk about on all the news reports and every where you go.  So I thought I'd talk about it as well.  It's hot....36 but totally feels like 40-42.  Sounds so funny to hear it described like that.  Because of the warm weather, we had plans to go to the beach today.      We found the beach we wanted to go to last night when we were exploring.  So we got up, had a free breakfast (yea!!!) and got ready to go to the beach.  When I say got ready, this was part of our preparation.  At breakfast we each got extra bread plus some pb & jelly packets and made our lunch!!!
Can you say frugal?  Or is it cheap?  Which ever, while sitting on the beach, that sandwich tasted great and totally hit the spot.

Kev and I did go in the water.  Holy crap was it cold!!!! Once we were in, I have to say it was quite refreshing.  Alicia would only get her feet wet, it was way too cold for her.
After the beach, on our way back to our hotel we did a short detour and found this castle.  It was in one of our tour guide brochures and we thought we'd go check it out.

Again the word cheap comes up.  We were going to go inside the castle but it was $21 a piece.  We took a vote....haha and decided it didn't mean that much to any of us to go inside.  We only paid $8 to see Boldt Castle and that had its own island!!!!
This is our proof that we were there.
After the Castle we went back to the hotel to cool off and hang out for a little bit before we were going to head out to the Blue Jays baseball game.  We are right here so we have to cross this stadium off our list.  But.....before the game we have time to play.  Our hotel has a 3 story water slide.
Alicia showing how graceful she is coming down.
Kev loved it.
And so did I.
It was really fun and we were the only ones on it so we just kept going one after the other.  The only reason we stopped was because we had to go get ready to head to the game.

So we've been to one more stadium on our list of trying to see them all.  Kev and I both agreed that the Toronto Blue Jays stadium is nothing to get excited about.  But hey we were there!!
Day 6 in the books.  Working on our plans for Day 7.

July 18, 2013 Vaca Day 5

Today was moving day, we were going south back down to Toronto.  But first we went back to Parliament Hill to see the Changing of Command ceremony.  Not really sure what all the different things that were going on meant, but we were there.

After the ceremony, ok we left after an hour, it was time for a road trip.  It was going to be a few hours so the plan was to stop in Kingston again to visit the Penitentiary Museum that was closed when we were going to visit it the other day.
Funny thing is, we all thought we were actually going to visit the prison, kind of like Alcatraz.  LOL But it was just a museum because the prison is still an active prison.  It was still really interesting cause the guide there had been a guard at the prison for 30 years so he was full of information.
This was a form of torture they used to use.
Once the chamber is closed they would fill it with water so it would make the prisoner feel like he was drowning.
It was no Alcatraz tour but it was a good break in the drive.  After that we were back on the road.  It felt like we were driving for a while and Kev kept asking me how my nap was and I swear I never really fell asleep.  Then I was shown proof.  LOL But notice I am in the back seat!!
We got to our hotel in Toronto and decided to go check out where the beaches were.  Our plan for tomorrow was to just relax at the beach and do some swimming.  We found where we wanted to go and then stumbled upon one of our favorite shows.

Pretty cool huh?  I'm going to have to find a way to watch the Canadian version once we get home.
It was now time to find something to eat.  One of the things that has been a problem this whole week is parking.  It's hard to find any everywhere we have gone.  And tonight was no different.  We found a place we wanted to eat around where the beaches were and got lucky and found a place to park.  There's a parking block that you pay at and put the receipt on your dashboard.  Alicia and I went and got the ticket and she just went on and on how we only have 21mins.  The box said 1 hr for $2.25.  So she kept putting money in and we printed the ticket and it still said 21mins.
So we went to eat and then Kev ran down and put more money in the box for another 21 mins.
We finished eating quick cause we were gonna run out of time again.  Kev went out to the car and Sisser and I paid the bill.  When we got out to the car, Kev was sitting there just laughing at us.  Our parking ticket was good  til 9:00 pm 21:00......haha he was making fun of us and then Alicia and I were cracking up.  He's the one that bought a 2nd ticket!!!!!
Haha....Day 5 done.
As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
