September 27, 2009 Patchey

I wasn't home on Sunday cause I had a candle party and I had used my camera alot the day before so I left it on the counter in the charger. Low and behold when I downloaded the pictures I had taken I found this group of ones of Paul. Evidently he came over to visit not knowing I wasn't going to be there. So he thought he was being funny taking pictures of himself, but how funny is it now Patchey that everyone gets to see you on my blog?

September 26, 2009 Grandma Lupe's 70th Birthday

Veronica's Grandma Lupe celebrated her 70th birthday with friends and family.
There was a whole group that had birthdays in September. Grandma, Alicia, Veronica, Uncle Danny, Auntie Bernie, Cousin Robert & Cousin Gene. They each had their own birthday cakes.

September 18, 2009 Birthday Celebrations

Alicia and Veronica have been celebrating their birthdays together since they were 3, so this year wasn't going to be any different. They made plans to start at Dave & Busters for a few drinks and some games (which we never played) and then move over to Toby Keith's I love this bar. Kev & I were invited to go, so it became Kev's celebration as well. Not only did the girls have their friends there but Heather, Junior & Madeline and Kim & Bill came as well. It was really a fun night.

Kev thought he was pretty special being surrounded by all the girls.
And what's a birthday without birthday shots? There were several of those going around at both bars, for both the birthday girls & the birthday boy!! Kev was trying to negotiate with the "shot girl" that he should be able to have several shots since it was his birthday. Of course she was like you can have as many as you want buddy, they're $3.00 each.

September 9, 2009 Diamondbacks Game

Went to the Diamondbacks game with Paul. Kev was hunting so he said he wanted to go with me. I was so excited when we were on the jumbo tron that I whipped out my camera to get our picture, so here's a picture of me taking a picture of Patchey & I on the big screen. It was funny cause we also saw my friends Terry & Bob and Terri & Ward on the jumbo tron.

This is our favorite beer guy "Jerome"

September 6, 2009 Fishing at Upper Lake Mary

What's a camping trip without doing some fishing? Paul & Rachel wanted to go fishing while they were up camping with us, so we went to Upper Lake Mary. You can see the three of them choosing what to get for hooks & bait out of the tackle box as I, once again took pictures & read.
Rachel really had to work on getting her line to cast right. Several times she would throw it out there just to have it land right in front of her. When he was looking for some snacks, I said to Paul why didn't you bring them with you and he said, "I brought the entertainment." We did have some pretty good laughs, but she never gave up and pretty much mastered it.
Only to catch a ton of weeds!!!
Paul caught his share of weeds as well.
But then he declared himself the winner by being the only one to catch a fish. Can you see this fish? It is actually smaller then the lure he was using. Poor thing.

September 5, 2009 Labor Day Weekend Camping

We have been camping outside of Flagstaff since the 12th of August. Kevin & I found this awesome campsite, check out the post from August 12-17. Well it just so happened to be a favorite spot for this other group of people so we had alot of company over the weekend, like 13 other trailers. There were a few people that were not happy that we were camped there but some of the others were super friendly and very welcoming. Take into account that we were there first, but they have been camping in this spot for years on every holiday weekend. It all worked out, we made some new friends, hung out with them, ate with them and enjoyed sitting around the campfire.

Paul came up with Rachel & they spent the night. It had been raining all day so it was a cool night and perfect weather for sitting around a fire.

September 3, 2009 Hiking Sandy's Canyon

There are a few sections of the Arizona Trail that Kev & I have hiked. Part of the trail goes through Sandy's Canyon in Flagstaff.

It is one of our favorite hikes that Kev & I like to do. We have hiked it several times and just love the scenery as well as the overall hike itself. There are several different options to the hike depending on how long you want to hike, or where you want to go. Today, we just hiked to the base of Fisher Pointe and then back, about a 2 hour round trip.

This is Fisher Pointe. You can hike to the top of this mountain, which we have done before, but just went to the base today. And it was a good thing we didn't hike up because just as we reached the truck at the end of the hike it started to pour and it rained for a few hours. Had we still been hiking, we would have been soaked.

August 29, 2009 Janet's Cul-de-sac BBQ

We went to Janet's to spend a few nights and it happened to be the weekend that her cul-de-sac was having a bbq. It was really fun. Everyone brought what they wanted to grill plus a side dish, (I brought the famous grape surprise that everyone loved...thanks Holly) and we all sat around and relaxed. It was an awesome night as far as the weather so we stayed out til after dark. Janet's next door neighbor, Jennifer has twin boys that are now 9 months old and they were real cute, fun and basically the entertainment.

August 28, 2009 Fishing at Dogtown Lake

Dogtown Lake in Williams was always a lake that Kev liked to go fishing at. Well now he loves to fish there. We went one afternoon and sat there for about 45 minutes and caught nothing. (I say we, but you know me and fishing....I read books) Anyways, all of a sudden he caught a fish. Yea!!! Then he caught another, and another and another. Every time he cast, they would bite, it was awesome. Cause you know there's nothing worse then going fishing and not catching any fish. But not today, it was a great day to fish!!!

August 27, 2009 Hiking

So Kevin came home one day and said "hey I found this trail for you to hike when we are up north." I thought cool, cause we like new hikes. It was located just outside Clints Well, kind of hidden away. The paper described it as an easy to moderate 1 1/2 mile hike. Yes it was easy, at least on the way down. Cause it was all down hill into this canyon and then you came across this creek and pool of water. Really pretty. The moderate part, was you guessed it, the way up. All up hill.....but worth it.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
