October 30, 2010 ASU Football Game

Kev ended up getting some tickets for the ASU game and since he had the day off we were able to go since it was a 4:00 game. We met some friends before the game to hang out and do a little tailgaiting. Really nice day out and the game ended up being a blowout. 42 - 0.....Go Devils!!!

October 28, 2010

This was Alicia's post on facebook last night. I didn't see it until this morning, made me cry!!!

"Alicia Gonzales misses her mom. that's right, I'm not ashamed to admit it, I'm a momma's girl."

October 24, 2010 Schnepf Farms with Cece & Lily

A few weeks ago Kev and I had gone to Schnepf Farms and thought it was pretty cool with lots of stuff to do.....if you have small kids. So we decided that we would take the girls there on the weekend we had them. So on Sunday we drove over to Queen Creek so the girls could have some fun.
They got to play on the playground.

Go on a Hayride and feed the Reindeer.

And ride the Merry Go Round.

Kev was the designated rider so he got to go on the honeybees with Lily and then took Cece on the rollercoaster.

They also got to walk around all the pumpkins and pick one out and then Kev said "put them down, let's go get some Kettle Korn" and off they went and we didn't have to buy any pumpkins!!!

October 22 & 23, 2010 Cece & Lily

Back in June, Jesenia asked me if I would watch Cece & Lily for a weekend in October because they were all going to Vegas to celebrate Michael's birthday. Well the weekend came so they dropped the kids off on Thursday night and weren't going to be back until Sunday night.
Friday night after dinner Kev said "ok, get your shoes on, let's go to the park" So off we went to the park so the girls could play and get tired!!!

Then on Saturday, I took Cece and Lily bowling with some friends while Kev was at work.

The bowling alley we were at has bumpers for the lanes so the kids don't throw any gutter balls and they are automatic. When it was their turn to bowl, they would pop up and then when it was mine they would go back down. It was pretty cool. Lily kept telling me to stay back and let her roll the ball by herself. It would roll and roll and roll really slow. Only one time did the guy have to walk down the lane to get it cause it stopped.

It wasn't until the third game that we found out about this ramp thing. You set it up in front of the lane and then you just put the ball on it then push and it gets a good rolling start.

Cece got a strike and she was really excited about it, but who doesn't get excited about a strike?

Ocotber 21, 2010

How can you look at a rainbow and not wonder who sent it for you to enjoy? Notice this is a double rainbow!!

October 17, 2010 Kinsley

Krisitien had to work all weekend and asked if Kev & I would watch Kinsley overnight a couple of nights. So she dropped her off on Friday night and she stayed til Sunday night. Kev played games, her & I watched movies and Kev even brought in the rocking horse for her to jump on.

Here's the funny thing about this rocking horse.....Kev has been trying to throw it out for years!!! I won't let him. It is always in the way either in the garage or in one of the rooms anywhere, so he keeps telling me to get rid of it. It is from when Paul & Alicia were little and it comes in handy when we have little guests around. Besides, someday our grandkids will love it! I just keep moving it so he forgets about it and so far, it's still here!!!

October 15, 2010 Paz de Cristo

Kim had signed up to volunteer at her church, St Tims to work and serve at Paz de Cristo for the Friday night meal. So myself, Kim, Myrna & her husband Jose and my friend Stacie all showed up and were put to work. First we were each assigned something to do. Stacie and I made the green salad, Kim made PB&J sandwiches and Myrna & Jose were assisgned to cut and butter all the bread. Paz serves dinner to the homeless everynight. On this night the homeless received chicken, rice & gravy, buttered bread, green salad, fruit salad, cake & drinks. It was a very rewarding and humbling experience. Everyone was so grateful and appreciative of our work and being there for them. I thank God every day for my life and everything He has blessed me with.

October 9, 2010 Rhonda's Pink Celebration Party

My friend Rhonda from Weight Watchers was scheduled to have a Candle Party with me in October. When she heard that PartyLite was having a special cancer product to be sold for the month of October it set her off. And I mean that in a good way. She went Pink Crazy!!! Rhonda is a 6 year cancer survivor and she decided that this was not a candle party, but a celebration party. I did my whole display in pink candles along with all my give aways and Rhonda had her own pink prizes to raffle off as well. Plus everyone wore pink. It was really alot of fun and such an awesome celebration for her.

Rhonda is the last one on the right.

Rhonda crocheted everyone a little pink ribbon to wear. Plus she also crocheted this shawl for someone to win.

I did share with everyone how important raising money for breast cancer is to me and how I walk in the 3 Day every year. Rhonda made this pink bra bowl for me and asked everyone to help out with my fundraising. It was so touching to have people drop money in the bowl and wish me luck. They were all so generous, I added $70 to my fundraising account just from her friends.
As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
