October 15, 2010 Paz de Cristo

Kim had signed up to volunteer at her church, St Tims to work and serve at Paz de Cristo for the Friday night meal. So myself, Kim, Myrna & her husband Jose and my friend Stacie all showed up and were put to work. First we were each assigned something to do. Stacie and I made the green salad, Kim made PB&J sandwiches and Myrna & Jose were assisgned to cut and butter all the bread. Paz serves dinner to the homeless everynight. On this night the homeless received chicken, rice & gravy, buttered bread, green salad, fruit salad, cake & drinks. It was a very rewarding and humbling experience. Everyone was so grateful and appreciative of our work and being there for them. I thank God every day for my life and everything He has blessed me with.

As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
