December 28, 2009 Alicia & Veronica going to NY

Well they're off!!! Alicia and Veronica planned a winter vacation. They are headed back east to Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York. They have all kinds of plans of who to see, where to stay and the most important is going to Time Square for New Year's Eve. Yes those are heavy jackets they are carrying cause it was only 23 in NY yesterday.....heehee. Enjoy the cold weather girls.

December 25, 2009 Christmas at Mary's

Great day at Mary's for Christmas this year.

Our 3 out of towners made it home for Christmas. Colleen from LA, Teresa from Denver and Nicole from Minneapolis.

At first there wasn't going to be enough seating at the table for all the kids, so we stuck Paul in the corner for his own little meal.

Alicia stole her own gift a few times cause she wanted this game, which was really fun when we played it. Barbara stole her own gift as well. They decided you should buy what you want, just in case you end up with it!!

December 25, 2009 Christmas Morning

Sisser was so excited to give Paul her present cause it was the book "Poky the Little Puppy". She told Paul it brought a tear to her eye cause that was what his little stuffed animal dog was called.

There are 3 things that Heather hates to buy at the store, so she got 2 of the 3 for Christmas. The one missing is laundry soap.

Alicia mainly got cash for Christmas with a few warm accesories since she was going to New York for 10 days right after Christmas.

The funny thing was when Alicia opened her last gift which was a Quesadilla maker. She was like.......Thanks? We were laughing so hard. Kev had won it the night before in the grab bag at his brother's so we re-gifted to our little mexican of the house.

December 24, 2009 Christmas Eve at Jimmy's

We spent Christmas Eve at Jimmy's house, Kevin's brother. His twin daughters each had baby girls this year and they really stole the show. Michelle's baby is a miniature Heather with all that red hair, her name is Peyton. I'm holding Linnea's baby Zoey.

December 19, 2009 Phoenix Greyhound Park

Like the sign says....Be a Part of History. Phoenix Greyhound Park has been around for 55 years and it was the last night that the dogs were going to be running. They are closing the park. Kevin and I went with some friends, Dale & Peggy so we could say we were there the last night. I made one bet on a dog in the 2nd race, only cause it's name was Live, Laugh, Love. He's still running.....

December 19, 2009 Tamale Day

Every year it's planned when Tamale Day is going to be. We go to Grandma Lupe's and get to work. There's an assembly line and we just go to town. I was a spreadder, Veronica was a stuffer and Alicia was a tie er. I brought a dozen home with me and wasn't home 10 minutes and Kev had 3 unwrapped covered with salsa and ready to chow down.

December 12,2009 Connie's 60th Birthday Party

I have this group of friends that I call my "Weight Watcher" friends. We see each other every Saturday and sit in our same seats together and keep each other posted on how we are doing. One of the ladies in the group turned 60 and her daughter threw her a party which we were all invited to.

December 12, 2009 Lily's 2nd Birthday Party

If you've ever heard Alicia talk about her "baby" she means her Goddaughter Lily. She is the cutest little thing and just loves her Nina. It ended up being a nice day out which was good cause her birthday party was at the park. She had this really cute pinata that she just wanted to keep hitting. In fact she got mad when they took the stick away so the other kids could have a chance.
Cece's birthday is just a few days after Lily's so it was her party too.
This is a picture of Cece with her mom Jesenia.

December 10, 2009 Alicia Needs a Coat for NY

Alicia and Veronica are going East after Christmas. They are headed to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. They have all kinds of plans to go here and there including Time Square for New Year's Eve. Alicia is really worried about the weather so we went out seeking to find her a warm coat of some sort. She turned down the one that made her look like the Michelin Man and is still debating about going back for the hat and warmer set, but she did get the black jacket.

December 8, 2009 Unit Christmas Party

We had our Unit Christmas party at a restaurant called Cafe Carumba in Scottsdale. It was really a great night. We had a great turnout between Kim's Desert Lights Unit, June's AZDiamond Lights Unit and my Heart's Desires Unit. The food was super delicious. And who knew that a tortilla with cheese and chocolate sauce could be so good?

We have a little grab bag gift exchange and Kathy kept stealing a gift only to get it stolen again from her. This went on with every gift she stole. I think at the end of the night she ended up with coffee and she doesn't even drink it!!!

I ended up with one of those really soft throw blankets because I got this super cute snowman stolen from me. Well then Kim stole it from whoever stole it from me and then we swapped at the end of the night. She wanted my blanket and stole the snowman for me!!!

November 2009 PartyLite

I promoted out to Unit Leader effective November 1st. So at our monthly Regional meeting they recognize all the new leaders and they get showered with all kinds of gifts and treats from the rest of the Leader Team. My unit name is Heart's Desires.

Arlene and I are always trying to challenge each other. We have little sales contests between ourselves just to keep each other going, so when she promoted out to Unit Leader I told her I had to because she did.

June, one of the girls in Kim's unit promoted out to Unit Leader when I did. As a result that made Kim a Senior Unit Leader.

November 29, 2009 Alicia's Sorority Football Game

Alicia's Sorority plays this annual football game against another Sorority. You would think it's all nicey nice since it's girls playing, but let me tell you they are not nice!!! The Gamma girls won again which is really all that matters.

November 26, 2009 Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was at our house this year. I had this great plan to eat outside cause it had been so nice during the day. But as previous posts would tell the rest of the story, we were having a bee problem. So inside we stayed. It was a relaxing good food family fun filled day!!!

After dinner we brought the Wii out and there were a few boxing and tennis matches going. We also played some cards, or should I say tried to play cards. We had been playing for about an hour and a half when we finally realized one of the decks we were using was a Pinochle deck. No wonder we couldn't get any 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's etc.
As of January 2009, I no longer have a job. It's not that I lost it, but after 26 1/2 years of working at the Post Office, I retired. According to everyone I know, I don't do anything all day, so I decided to start a blog. Now I can blog about what I don't do all day. I am married to Kevin, who is the most awesome husband I could ever have. It's because of him, that I do not go to work any more. I love that and I love him for that. Between the 2 of us we have 4 children. Hunter 31, Heather 29, Paul 28 and Alicia 26.
